According to the Veterinary Center, they not only isolated H5 virus but also H3 and H4 viruses in sick poultry. If poultry infects these three viruses at the same time, viruses may exchange genes between them and produce new strains. The consequences are unimaginable. By the beginning of 2006, Vietnam will produce 20 to 50 million H5N1 vaccines for poultry injections. At the same time, the National Center for Health and Epidemiology will complete the final procedure for the development of human H5N1 vaccines and submit them to the Ministry of Health for clinical trials in early 2006. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, as of December 2004, Vietnam reported 65 cases of human bird flu infections, including 22 deaths.
