Chinese cabbage cracking

Cracking refers to cracking of Chinese cabbage leaves. Cabbage period of Chinese cabbage is the period when most nutrients and moisture are needed, and it should meet its requirements for water and fertilizer in time.

1. If the water supply is insufficient in the early stage, excessive water supply in the later period will cause cracking of the leaf ball;

2. Continue to top-dressing in the later period of the ball, that is, the inner leaves continue to grow after the top-dressing. The size of the outer leaf has been established, and the leaf ball cracking may also be caused by the inner leaf ball expansion pressure.

3. If the leaf ball has matured and fails to be listed in time, it will also cause cracking;

4. Long-distance transportation or storage The preserved Chinese cabbage can generally only be harvested at the age of 80%. If excessively mature Chinese cabbage is harvested, leaf ball cracking may also occur during transport or preservation. Cracked leaf balls can also cause soft rot or other pests. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to uniform water supply in cultivation, and to stop topdressing in the later period. If it cannot be listed, it can be cut off in situ to prevent roots from absorbing water and nutrients.
