Dibazole
Active ingredient is Bendazole.
Description
Antispasmodic myotropic medication, Dibazole, is a derivative of benzimidazole. It produces antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles of blood vessels and inner organs. Dibazole decreases blood pressure by lowering cardiac output and expanding peripheral vessels. Hypotensive activity of bendazole is moderate, and the effect does not last. Dibazole produces short expansion of brain vessels and alleviates synaptic transmission in spinal cord.
Immunostimulating activity of Dibazole is directly connected to regulation of cGMP and cAMP correlations in immune cells (cGMP increases). It produces proliferation of mature sensitized TÂ and BÂ lymphocytes (secretion of mutual regulation factors, cooperative reaction and activation of ultimate effector cells function).
Uses
Arterial hypertension
Arterial spasms (coronary vasospasm, peripheral artery spasm)
Smooth muscles of inner organs spasm (stomach and duodenum ulcer, intestinal colic)
Nervous system disorder (residual poliomyelitis, peripheral paralysis of cranial nerve)
Directions:
Injections:
Reduction of hypertensic crisis: intravenous or intramuscular 30-40mg
Aggravation of arterial hypertension with significant blood pressure hike - intramuscular 20-30mg 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 8-14 days
Side effects
Allergic reactions
If taken for extended time: low rates of electrocardiogram test due to the decrease of cardiac output
If taken in large dosage: fever, excessive sweating, dizziness, nausea, headache
When pregnant or breast-feeding:
A doctor may prescribe the medication if the expected benefit for mother is higher than risks for fetus.
When breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.
Warnings
Hyper sensitivity to bendazole
Take with caution if you are a senior patient. Do not use for extended time to treat arterial hypertension in elderly patients.
Interaction with other medications:
Simultaneous intake of diuretic substances with antihypertensic medications may cause intensification of antihypertensic effects.
Simultaneous intake of bendazole prevents general peripheral vascular resistance caused by beta-adrenoceptor antagonist.
Simultaneous intake with phentolamine intensifies bendazole hypotensive effects.
Dibazole is a vasodilating medication with hypotensive and antispasmodic effects.

Vaccine For Rabies Prophylaxis
Travelers to areas where rabies is endemic may be at risk, especially if they are likely to come in contact with animals in areas where dog or other animal rabies is enzootic and immediate access to appropriate medical care is unlikely. Canine rabies remains highly endemic in certain areas of the world. Need for rabies preexposure vaccination depends on the nature of risk and associated level of potential exposure. preexposure vaccination based on local incidence of rabies in the country to be visited, availability of appropriate agents for rabies postexposure prophylaxis in that country, and intended activity and duration of stay
