The optical dissolved oxygen electrode uses the principle of fluorescence quenching oxygen to measure the oxygen content in the solution. The product of the optical dissolved oxygen sensor is designed to monitor the blue LED of the sensor through a light-emitting diode. The specific illuminant is excited by blue light and then luminescence (fluorescence). The light-emitting diode with red filter is used to measure the cold light. Red light to determine and calculate the number of oxygen molecules, as shown below:
Compared to polarographic dissolved oxygen electrodes, optical dissolved oxygen sensors are suitable for real-time dissolved oxygen monitoring, rugged, accurate measurement results, and easy to maintain:
1 Optical dissolved oxygen sensors are highly resistant: pressure shock, sudden temperature changes, and shut-off effects that can cause false alarms on electrochemical electrodes;
2 The optical sensor has no electrolyte and does not need to be polarized. It is only necessary to replace the membrane module regularly. The replacement process takes only one minute, and the ease of maintenance of the optical dissolved oxygen sensor sets a new benchmark for similar equipment.
3 On the other hand, plug and test start, all sensor data, including calibration history, is stored in the sensor. The online installation is very simple after performing maintenance and calibration. Thanks to the “Plug and Measure†function, all relevant data is automatically uploaded to the transmitter when the sensor is connected, and the oxygen content reading is immediately displayed without polarization. The sensor can even pre-calibrate and calibrate the curve for easy access, making it quicker and easier to replace the sensor.
