How the jet mill works

Crushing and grading process of jet mill

The pulverizing nozzle surrounding the pulverizing chamber directionally ejects a high-speed airflow to the pulverizing chamber, causing intense collision, shearing, and friction between the powders, thereby being pulverized.

The high-speed jet forms a strong swirl in the pulverizing chamber, and the centrifugal force generated causes the powder particles to move at high speed in the pulverizing chamber. When the particle size is pulverized below the grading diameter, the centrifugal force is reduced and the centripetal flow is released from the grading swirl, and the center outlet enters the trapping system.

Airflow mill process

In addition to the pressure requirements, the gas source used in the jet mill must be oil-free, water-free and dust-free to ensure the purity and pulverization performance of the product. At present, the oil-free lubricating air compressor and the refrigerating compressed air dryer are generally used together to ensure the cleanness of the air source. In order to ensure a stable gas-solid ratio, the product has to obtain a stable particle size range, and an automatic dosing device is required. The trapping system consists of a cyclone separator and a pulse bag trap, which has higher capture efficiency and is used to ensure economical production and environmental pollution.
