Recently, Li Wensheng, a professor at the Aier Eye Academy of Central South University, and his research team published a long article on IJO (Indian Eye Journal), which firstly clarified the use of 3D visualization system in cataract surgery. Its value can be regarded as the beginning of cataract surgery. The significance of the 3D era is to explore ways to promote cataract surgery towards a more refined, faster, and safer direction.
According to the World Health Organization report, cataract is the world's first blinding eye disease, with 35% of blindness worldwide and 25% of moderate to severe visual impairment from cataracts that are not treated in time. The data show that the incidence of cataract in China's 60 to 89-year-old population is about 80%, while the incidence of cataract in people over 90 years old is as high as 90%. Surgery is the only way to treat cataracts.
Cataract mainly refers to eye diseases caused by aging, genetic, local nutritional disorders, immune and metabolic abnormalities, trauma, poisoning, radiation and other causes of lens metabolism disorders, resulting in lens protein denaturation and turbidity. Cataract patients are often accompanied by blurred vision, ghosting, photophobia, glare, black shadows in front of the eyes, deepening of myopia and other symptoms. If surgery is not performed, blindness will eventually affect the normal working life.
On November 20, 2017, Li Wensheng successfully completed the first 3D cataract surgery in the operating room of Aier Ophthalmology Shanghai Hospital. According to Li Wensheng, 3D surgery is more ergonomic and more efficient. The surgical image is clear and stereoscopic. The operation is simple and precise, which makes the surgical trauma smaller, less intraoperative bleeding and shorter operation time. 3D surgery brings more refined operations to cataracts and even complex and difficult diseases of the fundus and the eyeballs of patients, which makes the postoperative effect of patients significantly improved.
The safety of 3D surgery is a concern because of visual changes during surgical procedures. Li Wensheng said that corneal safety is an important control link in cataract surgery. For patients with best corrected visual acuity and postoperative corneal endothelium count, 3D technique has no significant difference compared with traditional techniques, showing the safety of 3D technique in cataract phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation. Effectiveness.
"At present, phacoemulsification is still the core technology and cannot be replaced." Li Wensheng said, "Flysecond laser assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) is being selected and accepted by more and more doctors and patients, 3D Cataract surgery will be a trend in the future. Next we will use 3D technology to try some more complicated cases, such as small pupil cataract, sugar net or macular membrane combined with cataract surgery."

Importance: 1. Bottle should be used within 60 days of first opening. 2. Keep away from light and moisture. 3. Do not leave in the bathroom to avoid moisture. 4. Tightly replace cap after removing strips from the bottle. 5. Do not remove desiccants or touch test areas. 6. Use within expiration date. Reading the results: Negative: reduce carbohydrates intake or increase excercise. Trace/ small/ moderate: your health is satisfactory and you are burning fat. Large: increase carbohydrates or reduce exercise.
