6. Preparation before the test
1. Prepare the test sample.
2. Prepare the test gas source.
3. Connect the air supply to the instrument to ensure that there is no air leakage at the joint.
4. Connect the laboratory power supply to the instrument with the supplied power cord.
5. Place the textile sample into the sample frame clamp. The lower side of the sample should be flush with the lower end of the sample holder.
Seven, the operation steps
1. Open the gas source valve.
2. Close the front door of the combustion test chamber, turn on the power of the instrument (put the “1†end of the “power switchâ€), and the power indicator light is on.
3. Press the “Reset†button and the burner will return to the ignition position (if there is no reaction, the burner is already in the ignition position, please proceed to the next step).
4. Press and hold the "Ignition" button to ignite the burner (note: keep pressing the "Ignition" button while ignition). After ignition, release the “Ignition†button. When the ignition is difficult, adjust the “Flame Adjustment†button (to reduce the flow of combustible gas in a clockwise direction and increase the flow of combustible gas in a counterclockwise direction). Note that while adjusting the air flow, press and hold the "Ignition" button at the same time.
5. Open the front door of the combustion test chamber and place the flame height gauge (40mm high) in front of the flame by hand. Adjust the “flame adjustment†knob to adjust the flame height to 40mm±2mm. After the flame is stable, remove the flame height gauge. The sample is suspended vertically in the center of the box together with the sample holder, and the door is closed.
6. Press the “Start†button and the burner will move to the sample suspension position (the time from the sealed container should be taken out within 1 minute). After 12 seconds (or 10 seconds), the burner stops. Gas and return to the "continuation time" automatic timing.
7. Observe the condition of the sample in the test chamber. At the same time of the end of the continuous combustion, press the “continuation stop†button; if there is no continuous combustion, press the “continuation stop†button directly, and the “smoldering time†will be automatically timed. While the smoldering is over, press the “Smoldering Stop†button once, then record the afterburning time and smoldering time, and record the phenomenon that occurred during the test.
8. Open the front door of the combustion test box, take out the sample holder, remove the sample, and then select the weight according to the weight per unit area of ​​the fabric to determine the damage length (see standard).
9. Press the “Clear†button, the instrument will return to the initial state, open the test box door, remove the debris from the box, open the ventilation device, and discharge the smoke and gas from the test box. After the discharge, close the row. Wind equipment, this test is over.
10. If you need to continue the test, repeat steps 3-9. If not needed, turn off the power (put the “Power Switch†position “0†down), then unplug the power cable and close the gas source valve. The test is over.
Eight, matters needing attention
1. The instrument and gas bottle storage place should be strictly prohibited from pyrotechnics, extinguish the fire, and timely extinguish the sample that is still smoldering after the test. Fire extinguishing equipment such as carbon dioxide should be installed.
2. The gas pipeline should be carefully checked before starting the machine, and gas leakage is strictly prohibited.
3. Operators should wear protective clothing and protective gloves to avoid stab wounds or burns.
4. This test is carried out in a fume hood to remove harmful gases and replace fresh air immediately after the test.
5. At the end of the test, the gas source should be turned off first, and then the power is turned off after the gas in the tube is burned out.
6. The instrument is equipped with a gas alarm device. If the gas alarm sounds non-stop, please check if there is any air leakage.
7. After the gas alarm is alarmed, the power and air source should be turned off immediately, and then restarted after the fault is eliminated.
