It should be noted that juveniles are very sensitive to sudden changes in temperature, and that changes in water temperature cannot be suddenly increased or decreased by more than 5 degrees Celsius, or they will easily die. The depth of water must not exceed 50 cm, which exceeds the thermal stratification in the summer. The water temperature will be inconsistent and the color change will slow down. When the water temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius for a long time, the goldfish will not only lose its luster, but it will also be easy to get hot tail disease.
Second, water quality. Mainly refers to pH, hardness, dissolved oxygen and water color. The optimal PH value for the goldfish discoloration stage is 7.5-8.5. Over-alkaline or peracid will stimulate the fish gills, impede the breathing and blood circulation, and make the goldfish darker in color. Water hardness is best at 4-10 mg/L calcium carbonate, below 3 mg/L or above 15 mg/L, which can harm the survival of the fish. Dissolved oxygen in water is also very important for the discoloration of goldfish. Goldfish require dissolved oxygen in the water to be above 3 mg/l. The higher the dissolved oxygen, the more prosperous the metabolism of fish, the higher the utilization rate of food, and the faster the discoloration rate. If it drops to 1 mg/l, the goldfish will float, and the color change will be slow and dull. If you live in an outdoor fish pond that is over-saturated with oxygen for a long time, the goldfish will get bubble disease and lose its ornamental value. The coloration of the fry in the fresh water is rapid, but the color of the fish is light and glamorous. If alternating with fresh water and green water, fish discoloration is accelerated and the color is bright. This alternating period is generally suitable for about 30 days.
Third, light. The length of time and intensity of illumination have a direct impact on the conversion of goldfish. For fish fry in the open-air fish pond, the color is generally ideal. Although the fry in the indoor aquarium receives light on all sides, the light is weak, which is unfavorable to the conversion of the goldfish. Therefore, lighting equipment is used. Generally, aquariums can be installed with 40-60 watt fluorescent lamps, and the lights can be turned on for 6-10 hours every day. For outdoor goldfish ponds, sun shades must be erected to avoid direct sunlight and prevent goldfish from turning white.
Fourth, bait. The newly hatched goldfish gradually disappears after 2-3 days, and it can be fed with some cooked egg yolk. After 7-8 days, the rotifers can be fed. If the body length is longer than 6 cm, the leeches and red worms can be fed.
