Misunderstanding One: Calcium, Magnesium and Phosphor Fertilizers are Topdressing.
Calcium, magnesium and phosphate fertilizers are not easy to dissolve in water, and their fertilizer efficiency is slow. It is not suitable for top dressing. Especially when topdressing crops after mid-season, the utilization rate is low and the effect is poor.
The correct application method is: calcium, magnesium, phosphate fertilizer can only be used as base fertilizer and organic fertilizer mixed, or for seed dressing.
Myth two: Urea, ammonium bicarbonate and other nitrogen fertilizer shallow application, application or application concentration is too high.
Urea is an amide nitrogen fertilizer with high nitrogen content. After being applied to soil, except for a small amount of plants directly absorbed and utilized, most of them must be transformed into ammonium nitrogen through microbial decomposition before they can be absorbed and utilized by crops. The nature of ammonium bicarbonate is not stable. If the surface is lightly applied, utilization is low. At the same time, the amount of topdressing nitrogen applied to a large amount is too high and the concentration is too high. Ammonia that is volatilized will damage the stems and leaves of crops and cause fertilizer damage.
The correct application method is: nitrogen fertilizer for topdressing should be applied to the ditch or hole, depth 5-10cm, cover the soil after application. For foliar fertilizer spraying should be a good concentration, wheat, rice, cotton, corn and other 0.8% -1% is appropriate; vegetable spraying concentration should be low.
Misunderstanding 3: Superphosphate direct seed dressing.
Superphosphate contains 3.5%-5% free acid and is very corrosive. Direct seed dressing will reduce seed germination and emergence.
The correct method of application is: For topdressing, deep ditching should be applied. When applying fertilizer, it should be applied 5-6cm below or to the side of the seed and separate the fertilizer from the seed with soil.
Myth 4: Mixed application of zinc fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer.
Due to the severe "sputum effect" between zinc and phosphorus, if zinc sulphate is mixed with superphosphate, the effect of zinc sulphate will be reduced.
The correct application method is: zinc fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer should be applied separately and used as base fertilizer and seedling fertilizer separately, which can increase the fertilizer efficiency of phosphorus and zinc fertilizer.
Myth 5: Cold water dissolved borax for foliar spray.
Dissolving borax with cold water, borax will soon appear "recrystallization" and lose its effectiveness.
The correct application method is: first put the borax into a hot water bottle, add boiling water to dissolve, tightly seal the stopper and bring it to the field, and then add cold water to the required concentration, which can greatly improve the effect.
